Policies, Terms
& Conditions
I provide a service in compliance with the Animal Welfare Act 2006.
Aggressive Dogs
The owner of the dog agrees to inform us if the dog has ever been known to be aggressive or has ever bitten anyone. The owner understands that they will be legally liable for any consequences of all bites caused by their dog.
Matting
In compliance with the Animal Welfare Act 2006, I will not attempt to remove any matting for longer than 10 minutes as this will be causing suffering to your dog. I will clip the coat if I believe the matting cannot be humanely brushed out and the dog will be in pain if I attempt to do so. When clipping close to the skin, this can sometimes cause irritation and redness. By booking your dog in for an appointment, you agree that The Pooch Queen will not be responsible for any effect this has had on your dog after the groom. Any de-matting is an additional charge on top of the groom as this takes extra time and causes more wear and tear to equipment.
Health
It is the owner's responsibility to make sure their dog has up-to-date worming and flea treatment, vaccinations and health checks at the vet. The owner must make the groomer aware of any health conditions their dog has. All dogs have a brief health examination, and I will notify you of any concerns.

Grooming sick and elderly dogs will be at the owner's risk but I reserve the right to refuse to groom a dog if I deem the dog to be too unwell.

The owner must ensure the dog has had time to toilet before the grooming appointment. It is unpleasant if they urinate or defecate during the grooming procedure and can result in an additional bathing and drying fee of £10.
Fleas
I ask you to treat your dog for fleas prior to grooming and they must be kept up to date with worming and flea treatment. If I do find fleas on your dog, you agree to the use of insecticidal shampoo and the additional charge for this service.
Appointment Timings
I will do my utmost to arrive at the set appointment time, however due to being mobile I am exposed to unforeseen circumstances, i.e. heavy traffic etc. Please allow for time either side of the appointment time allocated. Communication will be made if I am likely to be early or late by more than 20 minutes.
Cancellation Policy
While I understand that sometimes appointments have to be cancelled in an emergency, as a small business, I require a minimum of 24 hours' notice before appointment cancellation, as this will enable me to offer your space to another customer on my waiting list.

I reserve the right to charge 50% of the price of your dog's grooming for appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice and 100% for a no-show. This will be payable prior to any future bookings.
Photography
From time to time I will take photos of your dogs for social media and website purposes. If you wish for me to not use your dog's images then please inform me.
